ABOUT US
AIMS OF THE SOCIETY
Our vision is to create an inclusive first aid forum within Nottingham University, where first aiders of all abilities can gather to share skills. We are also very interested in raising awareness on Nottingham University about first aid, from holding workshops for very basic skills to fundraising for charities. There is also a social aspect to our society- we encourage our members to make new friends based on our shared interest, and throughout the year, we will have social events to aid teambuilding.
SESSIONS
We normally have a two hour session held between seven and nine on a Tuesday evening. During this time we will cover a first aid topic. By the end of the year, you will have covered a number of first aid scenarios, and we hope that you will become confident in your abilities to manage an incident requiring first aid.
LINKS WITH SJA
As a society, we are descended from the University's LINKS group. We believe that St John Ambulance provides the best training opportunities for students in Nottingham and can direct any interested students towards volunteering with St John. A large number of our group are both members of the university society and St John.
